Revelation 3:14-22                 A Letter To the Church In Laodicea

 

1) Names the recipient

2) Who Jesus is, is of first importance

3) Jesus affirms evidences of God’s grace

4) Jesus exposes evidences of stubborn sin

5) Jesus instructs Christians in the local church

6) Jesus warns Christians about the consequences of disobedience

7) Jesus assures Christians of the joyful certainties of overcoming

 

 

Church, do not respond to Jesus’ all-sufficiency with your self-sufficiency!

2)     Jesus is uniquely qualified to be trusted and depended upon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3)     Jesus affirms His love of the Christians in Laodicea, by harshly rebuking them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4)     Jesus exposes the grotesque self-sufficiency of the Laodicean church.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5)     Jesus warns the lukewarm church that it is uniquely qualified for rejection.

7)     Jesus assures Christians of His invitation to delight in God, and reign with God.

 

 

 

 

 

Church, don’t respond to Jesus’ all-sufficiency with your self-sufficiency.

 

Respond to Jesus’ all-sufficiency with all your affection, all your devotion, all your desperation! 

 

Seek, in Him, all your satisfaction!
